St Nicholas

St Nicholas’ stands at the heart of the old village of Elstree, and is a visual focus for the community. We are considered a “pretty” Victorian Church, with a long and interesting history, and we are popular for weddings and baptisms.

We have very strong links with the Church of England school here www.stnicholas610.herts.sch.uk/ and with our local residential homes.

Our worship and Church life aims to hold together the best of the traditional, with a desire to be open and inclusive. Our main act of worship is on Sunday at 9.30am and all are welcome. We aim to be accessible to people with all disabilities, and have a loop system, good disabled access and large print materials available. Gluten free wafers are available. Please do be in touch and let us know if we do not meet your needs.

Children and young people of all ages are welcome at all our services and we have a children’s area within the main worship.

The Church Council has a community space near the church entrance that can be used for baby groups, book clubs, coffee mornings etc. If you are interested in using this space, please contact the Church.

For other activities at St Nicholas’ please see our other pages on this site.

Whether you are new to our community, searching for something, a history lover, a regular Church goer or someone who has never set foot inside a Church building before, you are most welcome to “come and see”.
