Each Year, the following festivals and special services are part of St Nicholas’ tradition
9.30am 1st Sunday in February Candlemas and Christingle – a service of light in aid of The Children’s Society
9.30am Mothering Sunday with children’s activities and posies for all women. We also “Clip the Church”, a folk tradition where we all go outside a give the Church a hug!
8pm Wednesday of Holy Week “St Nicholas’ Singers” with full choral Mass
12 – 3pm Good Friday Meditation on the Cross and Last Hour
Easter Sunday 5.30am(!) and 9.30am Easter Celebrations with breakfast (at the early service) and chocolate (at 9.30am)
1st Sunday in October Harvest Festival
2nd Sunday in November Remembrance Sunday Civic service beginning at 9.30am continuing after coffee at 10.55am at the Village Memorial
1st Sunday in December St Nicholas Day Our Patronal Festival which we celebrate with a “Child Bishop”, lots of children’s activities and chocolate coins!
Christmas Eve 4pm Crib Service Children are invited to dress up and join in the nativity
11.30pm Midnight Mass
Christmas Day 9.30am Christmas Communion
